The "Baby Seal 08" is here! Official images of the second-generation BYD Seal 07, featuring all-new plug-in hybrid and pure electric powertrains.

Official images of the second-generation BYD Seal 07 were recently released. Positioned as a mid-to-large-sized vehicle, the new model adopts the latest design language seen on the Seal 08, features LiDAR technology, and offers both plug-in hybrid and pure electric powertrains.

In terms of appearance, the second-generation Seal 07 adopts the "Ocean Aesthetics 2.0" design language—consistent with that of the Seal 08—and features a split headlight design with a wave-like shape. The front fascia sports a clean, minimalist look with a closed-off grille. A LiDAR unit is mounted on the roof, suggesting the vehicle will be equipped with the "Eye of the Gods B" (Tianshen Zhiyan B) driving assistance system.

In terms of dimensions, the new vehicle measures 5,080 mm in length, 1,960 mm in width, and 1,495 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,960 mm. Compared to the current model, the length, width, and wheelbase have all increased, resulting in a more spacious cabin. The side profile features straight lines, a panoramic glass roof, and semi-concealed door handles; multiple wheel options are available in 18-inch and 19-inch sizes.

The rear features a full-width taillight design shared with the Seal 08; the minimalist styling of the rear end creates a visual echo of the front fascia.

In terms of powertrain, the plug-in hybrid version is equipped with a 1.5T turbocharged engine (delivering a maximum power of 115 kW) and a drive motor (with a maximum power of 160 kW); it features a 38.029 kWh battery pack and offers a pure electric range of 245 km under the WLTC cycle. The all-electric version is equipped with a 300 kW drive motor.
